Vivek
Biyani, Director of Home Solutions Retail India
Limited, has a proud gleam when he talks about
the company’s flagship store in Mumbai.
For him, it is just the beginning of the adventure.

+- In
a corner of his 1,50,000 sq. ft store, Vivek
Biyani is sitting on a sofa and casually chatting
with a journalist. It’s not hard to see
that it’s not what he would rather be
doing. At the press conference announcing the
launch of his company’s largest outlet
in India, Vivek is happy deflecting the spotlight
to the other dignitaries present, a trait found
in nearly all the Biyanis.
Being a part of the family that has redefined
retail in India can be a high-inducing factor
for many, but the pressures and perks of the
family rest easy on Vivek’s shoulders.
Following Future’s retail formats, Home
Town stands out for its one-stop solution to
home needs, right from providing the customer
with the option of a Rs. 4 lakh bed down to
a teaspoon. And that is not counting the additional
services!
“It’s a one-of-a-kind store where
a consumer can walk in, spend an entire day
and get whatever he / she needs for the house,
including specialised help,” says Vivek,
about the store.
It’s the first outlet in Mumbai and the
largest in the country so far; and for Vivek,
the experience has been a whirlwind one, specially
considering that seven of the nine other outlets
in the country are in Tier 2 cities. Vivek states
that as his learning ground.
