I am constantly elaborating myself in an abstract way. I have no motives or feeling to express, but I create a visual language using the canvas, colour and texture."

A young talent, whose work shows a joyful celebration of colours and textures, Tanumansa Bagrodia has lived a comfortable life in a posh South Mumbai locality (Sunanda Bagrodia is part owner of the Four Season’s Hotel in Mumbai). With the comfort that financial stability provides, she had the liberty to choose her career according to her passion, and painting, it was noted early on, was her forte. She was declared the Upcoming Artist of the Year at the Lotus Art Show, which was held for a week in May at the Coomaraswamy Hall in Mumbai. This show was organised by the Woman Art Foundation and aimed to give impetus and encouragement to 123 women artists from India and countries such as Nepal, who were showcasing their work.

Beginnings…

She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she studied Fine Arts. She claims that the experience was inspiring and wonderful, and that she really grew as an artist during that time.
